'Furniture from a living room' with Jeppe Hein

Charlottenborgs Spring Exhibition 1997 and Galleri 54

The installation consisted of furniture from an ordinary Scandinavian living room. The furniture had been totally smashed and the put together again with glue, cello tape, nails, and stitching. The furniture had clearly been smashed with violence, and a lot of effort had clearly been put into putting them back together again.

The furniture was placed along the wall and on plints as objects i.e. not as a living room setting.
