Re-design
Commitment Contract between A Supermarket and ARD
It
is hereby agreed that A Supermarket and ARD will work together to
re-design and re-structure the supermarket in order to enhance its
function as a local and social meeting point and to increase sales
in order to secure the survival of the shop.
A
Supermarket is under extensive competition from the Sainsbury and
Tesco shops in the area. If A Supermarket stops there are far less
opportunities for local residents to meet, make each others acquaintance
and thereby respect and interact with each other.
ARD
will carefully investigate the social function and role of A Supermarket
and aim at emphasizing the points that create communication. The
aim of the project is to use art as a tool for research in social
functions of local meeting points in order to create better conditions
for (already existing) communication between people.
The
project will be a negotiation between the individual communication
strategies of the artists, the shop owners economical goal and the
wishes of the customers. It is furthermore a wish to engage the
local community in the project. Therefor openness and dialogue is
essential for a successful project.
The
Goals of the Project
The
goals of the project which both A Supermarket and ARD will work
towards is to
